Madam,

The cases of the domestic violence increased after nationwide lock down.  In the first week after the lockdown, the NCW recorded more than a two-fold increase in domestic violence and sexual assaults as well as a three- fold rise in police apathy towards crimes against women. We appreciate that NCW had launched the helpline number.

Madam, many women from the poor, migrant and vulnerable communities do not accessibility of smart phone nor they have money to travel to the one stop center at the district headquarter for reporting the cases of violence and doing followup.

Madam, we are requesting you

1. To appoint a Mahila Mitra (a trained female social worker/female lawyer as nodal person at the block level or at the police station for providing immediate support to the survivors of domestic violence.

2. To the enlist the name of the organization expertise in providing counseling or pyscho – social support.

3. To provide monitory relief package to single, divorce and survivors of domestic violence.

Thanking You

Sincerely Yours
