Dear Friends,
26 April, 2020 was a day of immense
satisfaction for all of us in the People's Vigilance Committee on Human Rights
(PVCHR). Sri Narendra Modi, Honourable Prime Minister of India during his ‘Man
Ki Baat’ programme talked about the slogan our organisation has coined to
underline the need for physical distancing to fight COVID-19 virus. This is an
acknowledgement of our advocacy work during the pandemic. The slogan created by
our field workers to reach out to the rural population in their own colloquial
language.
We always believed that civil society
organisation and government can work together despite their inherent
differences as long as things remain ideological and absence of hatred for the
interest of humanity. Buddha says, “Hatred does not cease by hatred, but
only by love; this is the eternal rule.”
In the last one decade our
organisation has faced an onslaught from our own NGO fraternity, non-state
actors and the state actors. We faced investigations, false allegations,
character assassination and physical attack. All these are led by people who
are highly educated, self-empowered, heavily funded by external agencies, high
fliers and part of international cartel. The adversities helped us to learn how
to make the optimization of available resources be in human power or finance.
Most of our staff volunteered to become non- paid consultants. The number of rural
volunteers increased with addition from media, administration and other
sections of the society. Today, we may not be having funds but we have
immense goodwill of people and trust of the government.
Humanity First. Let Humanity Win!!
Thank you Mr. Prime Minister.
Yours sincerely
